During this pandemic, content creators and newly formed start-ups have been facing a lot of problems. It is difficult to create content now since professional content creation requires working with a team and it becomes difficult to do so with this pandemic situation. Innovating is the key to creating content.

Another problem faced by content writers is finding the inspiration to write content. Writers often experience a writer’s block. They find it difficult to write about something that interests them. The best way to overcome it is to keep looking and going out and about to find something that inspires them. However, ever since the lockdown began, it has been difficult to go out. Alternatives have thus come forth as virtual programs and webinars. Since Maker Mela is going virtual this year, it is one such great virtual experience for writers to get inspired, where all the creators come together and there are panels by experts in various fields. There are creators from all over the globe sharing their creations. So there is a lot of content to get inspired from and it is an overall enriching experience.

Content Marketers also face a lot of issues during this pandemic. The main issue is to reach out to people and get them interested in what the marketers have to offer. Since this is the age of social media, people have different preferences about different content and it becomes difficult to find like-minded people who will be interested in the content. For this problem, they need a platform to advertise to like-minded people. Maker Mela offers such a global platform to present your content to like-minded people. It is a community of 10,000+ creators.

Start-ups find it difficult to pitch their ideas to potential investors and common people who would become potential buyers for startups. They also have the risk of running into losses or lose buyers. Maker Mela gives them a way to pitch their ideas to their potential investors and potential buyers through ‘Pitch Perfect’ a pitching session for startups to pitch their ideas.

I came across Maker Mela, which helps creators to showcase their creations and innovations. It also helps several start-ups to prosper. It has a program wherein start-ups can pitch their ideas to investors and get grants. It helps the creator to get noticed and the event includes a wide range of panelists who share their journey and help creators with their craft. It is a 3-Day event that celebrates creation, art, and innovation. Through Maker Mela, a lot of creators have been noticed and a lot of startups have been given grants. Thousands of makers from all over the world participate in this event every year and make it a grand success. Through Maker Mela’s Acceleration program for startups, 10 start-ups have been given funding since Jan 2020. It is supported by organizations like UNESCO, Skill India, Start up India, and NYCS. So now the solution to these content and startup problems is Maker Mela! It is never too late to become a Maker. Maker Mela had its 5th edition in 2020. It was started in 2015 and is an initiative of Somaiya Vidyavihar and Somaiya trust, organized by Research Innovation Incubator Design Labs (Riidl). This edition had a wide range of events.
